This trend has also increased the added value of Vietnamese agricultural products on the international market. Businesses have recognized the potential of clean agriculture in the current global context. Notably, WinEco is a pioneering company in this field.
Vietnam’s agricultural sector experiences significant developments with clean agricultural practices
Vietnam's agricultural sector has seen remarkable growth through the adoption of clean and sustainable farming models. Recent achievements in the sector also highlighted notable, positive changes that correspond with the sector’s broader focus on value-added growth, green development, sustainability, and ecological preservation. Notably, Vietnamese agricultural products have earned various international certifications, including GlobalGAP and VietGAP standards, thereby reinforcing their quality and creating a substantial competitive edge in global markets.
At present, Vietnam exports its agricultural products to more than 180 countries and territories worldwide, including demanding markets like Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea, with annual exports reaching several billions of USD.
Growing investments in clean agricultural production
Vietnam currently houses numerous advanced production models, ranging from greenhouse technology and smart irrigation systems to organic farming methods. These high-tech farms optimize productivity and ensure consistent quality across each product. Notably, many pioneering domestic businesses have adopted these models, which helps reshape the landscape of Vietnam's agricultural sector.
Several domestic businesses have identified the potential of clean agriculture before others and committed to this sustainable development trend, with WinEco standing out as a pioneer.
Founded in 2015, WinEco invested heavily in modern production technology and a strict "3 Controls - 4 Nos" process. WinEco farms utilize greenhouse and glasshouse systems on a large scale to closely monitor various growing conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light. This approach minimizes risks from external factors and reduces the use of chemical fertilizers and non-approved pesticides, resulting in clean and safe produce. Furthermore, the automatic hydroponic and misting systems conserve water and ensure even nutrient distribution to crops, thereby enhancing productivity and product quality.
Lac Duong, General Director of WinEco Farm shared, "WinEco cultivates its produce in a closed-loop process that utilizes modern technology, with a focus on complying with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards, thereby promoting a farm-to-fork level of cleanliness."
A recent milestone in WinEco’s international export efforts was the arrival of 18 clean hydroponic lettuce shipments in South Korea in September 2024. South Korea, the third-largest export market for Vietnam, recorded an export turnover of 226 million USD in 2023, representing a significant opportunity for Vietnam to introduce its clean produce to the global market.
Growing consumer support for clean agricultural products
Consumer satisfaction with clean agricultural products reflects a positive shift in consumption habits as well as the success of Vietnam’s clean agriculture trend. As health and food safety grows as priorities for consumers, clean produce emerged as the preferred choice for family meals.
Consequently, leading clean agriculture brands have won the trust and support of consumers along the development of the clean agriculture trend.
Hoai Huong, a resident of Ba Dinh District, Hanoi and patron of WinMart, shared: "I frequently purchase WinEco vegetables because they are clean and fresh, with transparent origins. In addition, they are produced through rigorous and hygienic processes. Knowing that these vegetables are cultivated according to international standards gives me greater confidence when selecting them for my family’s meals."
The clean agriculture trend is expected to grow stronger in the near future as consumer demand continues to rise. Accordingly, pioneering companies such as WinEco will inspire other businesses to join the "clean agriculture revolution," thereby contributing to a sustainable future for the community.
