Description
- In 2023, the fruit industry still plays an important role in the Group's operating structure with banana as flagship product. The current banana growing area is 7,000 hectares stretching from Vietnam to Laos and Cambodia.
- The internal road system is built inside the banana plantations with concrete paved arterial roads, providing convenience for transport of goods, agricultural materials and nursing fruit plantations. Automatic irrigation systems are installed where bananas are grown to provide water and nutrients for the plants. The Group apply Israeli drip irrigation technology achieving more efficient farming, particularly economizing on water and labor, and at the same time bringing great efficiency to developing agriculture in a sustainable way Besides, banana packing factories are also built right in the raw material area. Harvested bananas are transported to the factory by a pulley system where workers wash, sort, and pack boxes. Bananas that meet quality standards will be put into cold storage for preservation and export. The banana hands below the standards will be sent to the drying plant to be treated and processed into pig fodder.
- Currently, bananas of the Group are exported to China, Japan and Korea via official quota.
- For the main market, China, the Group is shifting from wholesale to importers to retail directly into the supermarket system of this country by associating with a partner company specializing in banana incubation and getting them into supermarkets in the China. The advantage of this company is the availability of retail outlets and the Group's bananas branded "Pleiku Sweet" are packed to Japanese specifications in small quantities of about 3-4 fingers, which has been accepted by Chinese consumers.
