The Prime Minister asks for a medicinal materials export solution

The Government Office recently released Document No. 3175/VPCP-KGVX dated May 10, 2024, conveying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's directives on alleviating challenges in exporting medicinal materials. Specifically, based on the Ministry of Health's report on implementing Directive No. 35/CĐ/TTG issued on April 8, 2024, regarding addressing export difficulties, Prime Minister Chinh instructed the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance to continue vigilant monitoring and swift resolution of any hindrances in medicinal materials export. They are urged to promptly revise and enhance relevant regulations by May 2024, ensuring favorable conditions for enterprises in compliance with regulations, thus promoting the export of Vietnamese-produced goods.

Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued Directive No. 35/CĐ-TTg on April 10, 2024, to the Minister of Health and the Minister of Finance regarding the removal of obstacles in medicinal materials export. This directive addressed media-reported difficulties affecting numerous enterprises, including market conditions, price declines, and challenges in implementing Ministry of Health regulations outlined in Circular No. 48/2018/TT-BYT dated December 28, 2018, and Circular No. 03/2021/TT-BYT dated March 4, 2021.

To promptly address export obstacles and facilitate business operations in the medicinal materials sector, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and relevant agencies, to expeditiously review, research, amend, and enhance regulations on medicinal materials import and export by April 25, 2024.
