An Giang province: Over 313 ha of Pangasius farming area get international certifications

(seafood.vasep.com.vn) Currently, An Giang province has linked consumption areas for commercial Pangasius pangasius covering approximately 1,072 hectares, accounting for 87.6% of the total farming area in the province. Notably, the farming area managed by enterprises exceeds 778 hectares, involving 9 linkage chains with 99 linked farming facilities, spanning an area of nearly 294 hectares. Prominent linked enterprises include Vinh Hoan JSC, IDI Corporation - Sao Mai Group, and Hung Phuc Thinh Food JSC.

According to the An Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the province currently has over 313 hectares of pangasius farming areas certified by international standards such as ASC, BAP, Global GAP, and VietGAP, with an annual production of about 200,000 tons, accounting for 25.6% of the province's total pangasius farming area. Of this, more than 252 hectares are certified by ASC, BAP, and other standards, while 61.1 hectares are certified by VietGAP.

An Giang has several commercial pangasius farming facilities certified by international standards like ASC and BAP, including Vinh Hoan, Navico, Sao Mai JSC, Loc Kim Chi JSC, PTFOOD, and ANMYFISHCO, covering over 253 hectares with a production of about 87,000 tons. The province also has many pangasius breeding facilities certified by BAP and Global GAP, such as Vinh Hoan, Nam Viet, and Nha Trang Seafood, covering over 60 hectares with a production capacity of about 4,300 fingerlings per year.
