After many years of effort, joy came to the Agriculture and Rural Development sector and Tuyen Quang’s farmers when this province has 7 agricultural products are chosen to export to the UK.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuyen Quang province has just connected with R.Y.B Joint Stock Company (Hanoi) to export agricultural, forestry, fishery products and 0C0P products in the province to European and American markets. According to, 7 products of Tuyen Quang are chosen by the UK market and have criteria to ensure quality and food safety. 

Among the 7 products selected for export to Europe are black green bean tea bags from Hong Phat Organic Cooperative (Chiem Hoa district) with 480 boxes; guava tea products, male papaya flowers soaked in honey from Binh Minh Organic Agricultural Cooperative (Yen Son district), of which guava tea products quantity 400 boxes, male papaya flower products soaked in honey quantity 240 bottles; dried banana products of Chieu Yen Clean Banana Cooperative (Yen Son district) with quantity of 600 boxes; lemon syrup and kumquat syrup products of Minh Thao Agricultural and medicinal products Cooperative (Ham Yen district) with a quantity of 480 bottles.

Mr Nguyen Van Thuan, Director of the Department of Quality - Processing and Market Development of Tuyen Quang province said, after checking, analyzing samples, agricultural products of Tuyen Quang province all meet standards for export to the European market. Now, R.Y.B Joint Stock Company has signed the first purchasing contract for 6 products of 4 cooperatives. It is expected that in July 2024, the company will export 6 products to the UK market. This is the first time OCOP-star agricultural products of Tuyen Quang farmers have been exported to the European market. 

Also according to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tuyen Quang province, among the 7 products selected for export to Europe are also grapefruit products of Xuan van commune, Yen Sơn district. Regarding Xuan Van grapefruit products, at the end of May 2024, R.Y.B Joint Stock Company had a working session at the People's Committee of Xuan Van commune. Accordingly, the company has ordered 10.000-15.000 grapefruits, with the standard and quality set by the Company and signed a contract with Xuan Van Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative. Until now, 13 households in Xuan Van commune have agreed to participate and are taking care of grapefruits according to the technical standard instructions of R.Y.B Joint Stock Company.

Do Khac Khoat’s family is one of 13 households in Soi Ha village (Xuan Van commune) participating in taking care of grapefruits according to the technical standard instructions of R.Y.B Joint Stock Company to serve the goal of exporting to Europe.

Mr Khoat said, in many years, on average, his family's Soi Ha specialty grapefruit garden earns about 300 million VND per year, although the consumer market is only domestic. Xuan Van commune's grapefruits were exported to Europe made him very excited and happy. He and his family enthusiastically responded to care and ensure the technical process prescribed by the business. He hopes that when his hometown's grapefruit is exported to Europe, it will not only enhance the brand of Tuyen Quang's agricultural products but also help people like him increase their income.

Now, the area of ​​crops produced according to standards and regulations in Tuyen Quang province is more than 3,600 hectares. Specifically, the production area according to VietGAP standards is more than 2,400 hectares, according to Rainforest standards is more than 914 hectares, the production area according to organic standards is 268 hectares and 8 hectares are produced according to GlobalGAP standards.

In order to promote the consumption of good local agricultural products, from the beginning of the year, Tuyen Quang province has organized 3 fairs and 1 market to promote the province's agricultural products in Quang Ninh province and Hanoi capital. The fact that good agricultural products from Tuyen Quang farmers are present in the European market for the first time is an important mark, creating a premise for Tuyen Quang's agricultural products to make a breakthrough. This also encourages farmers to practice good agriculture to expand consumption markets and enhance the value and brand of agricultural products.
